Miley Cyrus working on new music with Taylor Swift's
long-term producer Jack Antonoff
Miley Cyrus, despite her relatively low profile this year, has managed to keep a strong presence on
the airwaves with her massive hit, "Flowers."
Now, she's set on maintaining her chart-topping status by teaming up with a maestro in the music
industry who knows how to churn out record-breaking hits. Miley has reportedly reached out to Jack
Antonoff, who has been a long-term collaborator of Taylor Swift, in an effort to create some
chart-toppers together.
Rumors of their meeting began to circulate online after one of Miley's fans accidentally spilled the
beans. The fan shared, "According to a friend working in the recording engineering field, Miley
Cyrus has scheduled a studio session with Jack Antonoff."
Jack Antonoff is renowned for his contributions to some of Taylor Swift's biggest hits, including
"Anti-Hero," "Look What You Made Me Do," and "Cruel Summer." Beyond his work with Swift, he has also
co-written songs for the likes of Lana Del Rey, Lorde, The 1975, Florence + The Machine, and many
more.
In a recent live performance at the All Things Go Fest in Baltimore, Antonoff joined Lana Del Rey
onstage, and the duo delivered a captivating performance featuring songs like "Margaret" from Tunnel
Blvd and "Venice Bitch" from Norman Fucking Rockwell.
Miley Cyrus is gearing up to release her new single, "Used to Be Young," which adds a reflective
layer to her music. She took to Instagram to share the introspective lyrics, stating, "These lyrics
were written almost 2 years ago at the beginning of my ESV. It was at a time I felt misunderstood."
The lyrics feature a poignant chorus: "You tell me time has done changed me / That's fine, I've had
a good run / I know I used to be crazy / That's 'cause I used to be young."
To celebrate the release of the track, Miley is continuing her "Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard
Sessions)" series with a special interview on ABC. In this interview, she reflects on her life and
career, dedicating the song "Used to Be Young" to her loyal fans, whom she loves for embracing every
version of her.
In a recent press statement, Miley Cyrus opened up about her desire to tour again, admitting, "I have
no desire to tour again. It's so isolating." She went on to express her feelings about performing
for large crowds, saying, "Singing for thousands isn't really the thing that I love." She reminisced
about her last headlining arena show during her "Bangerz" world tour in 2014, explaining her change
of heart regarding live performances. She pondered, "Do I want to live my life for anyone else's
pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?"
Miley's insights revealed that the massive audiences and lack of personal connection left her feeling
isolated and unfulfilled. She concluded, "Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn't really
the thing that I love. There's no connection. There's no safety." It's a candid perspective on the
world of live performance from a renowned artist.
